Janet Kathleen Crook, age 72 Years of Hudson, formerly of New York, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Hillsdale Hospital, Hillsdale. She was born on May 27, 1952, in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Charles Henry and Barbara M. (Exel) Hughes. Janet married Charles Robert Crook on March 4, 1988, in Constantia, New York. Charles preceded her in death on April 8, 2024.
Janet enjoyed watching butterflies, reading, baking, sewing, gardening, coloring, listening to windchimes and trips to the casino with Charlie. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hudson.
Janet is survived by her three children, Susan Hinman, Chuck (Megan) Hinman and Carolyn King, three grandchildren, Marcus James, Carmen James and Hailey King, two sisters, Lisa (Jay) Fleming and Debra LaPoint, a sister-in-law, Debbie (Paul) Roe, a brother-in-law, Walt (Kaye) Crook and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and mother-in-law, Bernice Herder.
Funeral Services for Janet will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home, Hudson with Pastor John Rath officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home, Hudson, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 3-6 P.M and Wednesday from noon until the time of service.
