Janet DeSloover, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, entered into eternal rest peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on January 6, 2025, at her home in Saucier, Mississippi. Born on December 14, 1946. She was born and raised in Mississippi and returned to the coast after 45 years in Richmond, KY. Janet lived a life filled with unyielding love for those around her. Her smile, laughter, and personality were contagious.

After devoting 27 years to her career as an accountant for the Department of Criminal Justice Training, Janet found joy in the relationships she built and the impact she made in her community. She retired young because she loved being a homemaker which was matched only by her loyalty to her family, that she proudly cultivated throughout her life.

Janet was the loving wife of Raymond DeSloover for an incredible 57 years, sharing countless memories and experiences that can never be replaced. She was also a devoted mother to her daughter, Kelli (York) Godfrey, and a doting grandmother to her granddaughter, Olivia Godfrey. Watching Olivia play softball brought immense joy to Janet's heart, serving as a reminder of the love and legacy she built within her family.

Aside from her family, Janet cherished her friends and the timeless moments spent together enjoying games like Pokeno and Bunco. Her laughter often filled the room, creating a bond that transcended the years. She also delighted in the simple pleasures of shopping and watching football, embracing life with a spirited enthusiasm that inspired everyone around her.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Terrill "Bugs" Moran Sr. and Hilda Shoemake Moran, her sister Bobbie Williams, and her brother Larry Wilson. Though they are no longer physically present, their memories will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved her.

Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, especially her nieces and nephews, to whom she held an immeasurable love. Janet's ability to find joy in everyday tasks, like sweeping the floor, showcased her appreciation for life’s simple moments.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Janet's life on January 11, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gulfport, Mississippi. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 12:00 PM. This gathering will be an opportunity for all who knew her to share their stories, honor her memory, and reflect on the love she gave so freely.

There will also be a celebration of life in Richmond, Kentucky, on January 24, 2025, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, visitation will be from 10:00 AM ~ 12:00 PM, mass will begin at 12:00 PM, with a dinner immediately after.

Janet DeSloover will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved, a testament to a life well-lived and a legacy of love that will never be forgotten.
