Janet Dinauer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hartson Funeral Home - Hales Corners on Aug. 30, 2025.

On August 28, 2025 Jan Dinauer (Busowski) was finally reunited in heaven with her husband Phil after being apart for 34 years. She lived a wonderful life while waiting for this day.

She leaves behind her children Paul (Andrea) and Pam (Joe). Her five grandchildren Owen, Sam (Brooke), Ava (Matt), Emma and Kate. Along with her bonus family, Barb, Lori, Brian, Cooper, and Elise (Erik).

Acts of service were particularly important to her. She spent over 35 years singing in the St. Stephens choir. She worked at the school as the librarian (a book is never a bad gift), and for many years at Interfaith. She helped raise her grandchildren. She lent an ear and an honest piece of advice. She would 'work the beads' (the Rosery) for anyone who asked.

Jan was known for her cooking and baking, and she loved to share with whoever needed some. If you needed a homemade baked good for any occasion, she was your first call. Her banana bread, lemon squares, and rum cake were unmatched. She made the tastiest casseroles, especially tater tot and potato chip tuna. Her grilled cheese and potato salad were the best. And one of the last things she talked about was that everything is better with bacon.

Her giving heart did not stop with humans. She adored all animals and would spoil them with treats whenever she could. She is joined now with so many that are running free. She will be ready with the cheese, popcorn and saucers of half and half.

But her passions were not just helping others. She also loved the Green Bay Packers, Notre Dame football and professional tennis. If one of these were on TV, she would be watching and definitely shouting and swearing.

In lieu of donations or flowers, please think of her while making your next sweet treat, yelling at the Packers, or snuggling your pet. Give her a toast the next time you enjoy some champagne or a really cold beer. Maybe say something inappropriate. She would love that.
