Janet Louise Dodd, age 90, passed away on Sunday, June 8th at Pelican Valley Senior Living, Pelican Rapids, MN. Janet was born on May 25th, 1935, to Fredrick and Viola (Slonkosky) Schneider in Wapakoneta Ohio. She was baptized & confirmed at Holy Angels Catholic Church. In 1953, Janet graduated from Holy Angels Catholic School in Sidney Ohio. Janet was united in marriage to Don "D.K." Dodd on September 8th, 1956, in Sarasota Florida. Janet and D.K. lived in numerous states while D.K. worked installing telephone equipment. They moved to Two Harbors in 1963, to the Twin Cities in 1971, and to Pelican Rapids in 1974. After raising their three children, she worked a variety of jobs, including Boe's, Birkholz, and the clinic in Fergus Falls. After retirement, Janet and DK frequently traveled the US. A favorite spot of Janet's was the North Shore of Minnesota.
Janet loved spending time with her family and many friends. She especially enjoyed cooking, baking, and visiting over a cup of coffee.
Janet is survived by two children; daughter, Cathy (Dennis) Sundlie of Prior Lake, MN, son; Brian of Fargo, ND, two grandchildren; Katie Schmidt (Alex) and Andrew Sundlie, great-granddaughter; Greta Schmidt, brothers; David (Connie) Schneider of OH, Michael (Mary) Schneider of OH, sister; Judy Brandewie of OH, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, DK, daughter, Susan and brother, Jim.

A Memorial Service will be held on June 30, 2025, at 11am at Trinity Lutheran with a visitation an hour prior. Janet Dodd will be laid to rest at Lake View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Family of Janet Dodd would like donations made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids.
