Janet Wyble Ehrhardt, 72, wife of Gilbert Alexander Ehrhardt, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 at Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston. Born in Montclair, NJ and reared in Cedar Grove, NJ, Janet was born May 14, 1938 to the late George Louis, Sr. and Marjorie Cadby Wyble. She was the Office Manager for the Town of Brookneal, the Division of Motor Vehicle office, the YMCA in South Boston, and Southside Regional Juvenile Group Home. She and Gil moved to Clarksville in 1971. Janet's values, drive, intelligence, and work ethic made her accomplished in her various jobs, but it was her accomplishments as a mother, wife, and friend we will remember most. She was the heart of her family and guided her three children, Sharon Sanderson of Richmond, VA, R. Scott Ehrhardt of Danville, VA and Robin Barnhill of Raleigh, NC in directions that enabled them to mature with the education, confidence and values necessary to succeed. The life lessons she taught them continue to transfer to their children, Janets six grandchildren, who are Ryan Gitchell, Katherine Gitchell, Laura Ehrhardt, Xavier Ehrhardt, Alexander Barnhill, and Ashtyn Barnhill. Janets strong love extended beyond her family to friends and acquaintances. Her smile and strength was contagious, making everyone feel they were loved and could accomplish anything, despite even the toughest obstacles. In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, her sister, Ruth Ann Bellany of Spotswood, NJ, and brother, David R. Wyble of Verona, NJ also survive. A memorial mass will be said 11 AM Tuesday at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Clarksville, VA with Father Carl DeSouza officiating. Interment will follow at Oakhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Monday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.wclfh.com. In lieu of flowers, the family will appreciate donations to the Mecklenburg County Lifesaving and Rescue Squad in Clarksville, VA.
