Janet Louise Gardner, 92, a resident of the Rock Creek Community passed away on August 10, 2025, at her home. Janet was born on April 21, 1933, in Tipp City, Ohio. She was the oldest of three children born to Maurice Bentley and Helen (Durst) Wray. She was raised in Tipp City and attended Tippecanoe High School graduating with the Class of 1951. She was united in marriage to H David Osterman in 1951 and they started out in Dayton, OH until 1968 when they moved to Rochester, NY. In 1970 they moved to Portland. They had two children together, David "Steve" and Lori. They later divorced. Janet met her future husband, James Gardner, at Goose Hollow in the early 1980's. They soon began dating and married in 1984. They made their home in the Tanasbourne area. James passed away in 2004. Janet was first a loving and devoted mother to her two children. She loved being a grandmother and would often look after them. When she was not a doting mother, she worked outside the home as a secretary for a local health clinic or insurance agent. Janet loved playing tennis and was quite good at it. She played competitively into her early 80's. James and Janet also liked to travel through the US and abroad. She enjoyed reading, dancing, and her dogs. Janet was full of grace and love; and enjoyed hosting gatherings at her home. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James, a brother, Thomas Wray, and her parents. She is survived by her two children, David "Steve" and his wife Kim Osterman both of Tualatin, Lori Smith of Rock Creek, five grandchildren, Trevor, Sarah, Elizabeth, Rick, and Janny, seven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
