Janet Kay Gorsch, 76, of West Burlington, died Thursday, January 4, 2024 at her home.
Born January 26, 1947 in Grinnell, Iowa, she was the daughter of Charles and Erma (Smith) DePauw. She graduated from BGM High School. She was a certified Paraeducator.
On June 18, 1966 she married Charles "Chuck" Gorsch in Brooklyn, Iowa.
Janet was a special education specialist for the West Burlington Independent School District. She was a member of West Burlington Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafts and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Charles; one daughter Stephanie (Jeff) Gerdom of Burlington; two sons Nathan (Corinne) Gorsch of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Marc (Kristina) Gorsch of Shorewood, Illinois; seven grandchildren Sadie, Kinnick, Macey and Carver Gorsch, Olivia Gerdom, Jaren and Emery Gorsch; two brothers John (Carol) DePauw and Joel (Rosie) DePauw both of Council Bluffs, Iowa; one sister Julie (Joe) Kriegel of Brooklyn, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother James DePauw.
Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
A celebration of life will be held at West Burlington Christian Church Friday, March 29th at 6pm with a dessert bar to follow.
A memorial has been established for West Burlington Christian Church.
