Janet E. Harting

Janet was born April 20, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The fourth daughter of Margaret and Raymond Duke. Her parents passed when she was small and she was saved by foster parents, John and Lillie Kruse of Cumberland. She moved to Anderson and was employed by GM Guide Lamp when she retired in 2000 after 29 years of service. In 2002, she started to volunteer for the Anderson Police Department for 10 years. Janet is survived by her 4 children, Dawn Weaver of Indianapolis; LeAnn and Robert Wellens of Noblesville; Zaneen and David Bush of Anderson; and Fred and Carol Filson of Anderson; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and friends. She was preceded in passing by her son, Mark Donald Harting; sisters, Rosemary, Carol Jean, and Violet Althardt; grandson, Joseph Marano; son-in-love, Steve Weaver. Friends and Family may visit from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM on Monday, August 11th, 2025 at Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, 200 W 53rd St., Anderson IN 46013. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM with Pastor Bob Hendrickson officiating. Janet will be laid to rest at Willowcrest Cemetery at a later date.
