On Monday, October 14, 2024, Janet F. Hayes passed away at her home in Oklahoma City surrounded by her family, and went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Janet was born on July 23, 1946 in Chandler, Oklahoma. She was raised by her father, Fay Bass, and her many aunts and uncles. Janet graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1964, and began her lifelong career in the Dental Industry. Janet married her lifelong soul mate, Don, on Valentine's Day in 1975, and just celebrated 49 years together. Janet and Don were blessed on March 14, 1985 when their daughter, Lauren Ashley was born. Janet, Don and Lauren were faithful members of Crossings Community Church and were blessed to have a wonderful church family. Janet was a member of the Nansemond Indian Nation of Virginia.
Janet and Lauren were best friends and loved anything as long as they were together, whether it was going shopping or just rearranging a room, and loved to travel and see new parts of the country. Her vibrant personality, laugh and smile and love for so many things in life along with her positive attitude was apparent to anyone who ever had the privilege to know her. She blessed so many people she met throughout her life. The happiest time for Janet was when she was with her family.
Janet was preceded in death by her father, Fay Bass; her sister, Selma Louise Johnson; half-brother, Robert Leon Hammock; and many aunts and uncles. She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Don, and their daughter, Lauren. She is also survived by her brother-in law, Ron Hayes, his wife Sara and daughter Megan; her sister, Anita, and niece Holly and her husband Paul Stabler, along with their son Zach, and daughter Emily.
The family would like to thank the personnel from Bristol Hospice for their care and help for Janet. Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, October 23 at 1:00pm at Crossings Community Church, with interment following in Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed on this obituary page.
