Janet Kay Hibbs, 80, of Ellicott City passed away on January 30, 2024.

Janet was born on January 26, 1944, to Leslie and Lorene (Williamson) Manley in Monroe, Michigan.

In 1964 Janet married Jack Eugene Hibbs who became the love of her life. They were together over 50 years until his passing in 2017.

When Janet was young, she enjoyed sewing and won many 4-H awards for the clothing that she made. As a young mother she made matching Easter dresses for her girls as well as prom and homecoming dresses when they were in high school. She loved to bake and spoiled her family and their friends with cookies, candies, and brownies.

Janet worked as a lab technician and later as an administrative assistant for various companies in Akron, Ohio. A highlight of her career happened in 1986 as she was asked to be the company representative for a tour of Ireland.

Janet loved her girls and grandchildren deeply. She traveled many miles to assist after the birth of grandchildren in Florida and Maryland. Janet was thrilled to be present at the birth of her only great grandchild, Liam.

Janet was predeceased by her husband Jack Hibbs, parents Leslie and Lorene Manley, in laws Harold Hibbs, Maude Marie Hibbs, George & Alice Hibbs, Madalynn & Clifford Hollabaugh, and Gloria & Paul Tapper.
