Janet Elaine "Jannie" (née Norman) Johnson, age 82, a resident of Eagle River, WI, passed away at her home on Sunday June 15, 2025. She was born on October 28, 1942 in Cook Co., Chicago, IL to George Thomas Norman and Helen Jeanette (née Wildey) Norman. Her family moved to Tomahawk, WI in 1949. She graduated from the Tomahawk High School in 1962 and from Lincoln County Teachers College in 1964.

Jannie married the love of her life, David Lee Johnson, on May 27, 1964 at a 5:30 AM sunrise service. She taught fourth grade at Crescent School in Rhinelander until they started their family. She taught the tiny tots at the Community Bible Church where she was a member and active in the music ministry of the church and enjoyed the task of putting together a recipe book featuring past and present member's delicious recipes. She enjoyed reading, photography, crafts, gardening, hospitality and cooking. She left a legacy for her family and friends through a book called "Northwoods Nature Journal" featuring her drawings, photos and writings. This was one way of sharing her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved in-laws: Rev. Len and Ven Johnson; three brothers: Ronald Edward Norman, Richard Thomas Norman and Donald Arthur (Marry Ann) Norman; and sister: Carol Jean Cassell.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Pastor David Lee Johnson; their sons: Jay Andrew (Paula) Johnson of Grand Rapids, MN, Pastor Jon (Almi) Johnson of Eagle River, WI and Jess Alan Johnson of Kent, WA; grandchildren: Tanya Lynn (Jerry) Whitaker of Rhinelander, WI, Christy Andrea (Cole) Besonen of Appleton, WI, Joshua Scott Johnson of Wichita, KS; Trevor Andrew Johnson of Grand Rapids, MN; many nieces; nephews; and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday June 27, 2025 at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, WI. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Erica and the other staff from Compassus Hospice.
