Janet L. King, 89, passed away early Thursday, November 6, 2025 at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA, surrounded by loving family.

She was born February 28, 1936 in her home near Greencastle, PA. Her parents were Norman and Hazel Davis.

She is survived by her four children, Randy King who she lived with; Ricky and Ronny King of the Waynesboro area, and Robin Gonzales of Bel Air, MD; also, eight Grandchildren; four Great Grandchildren; and five Great Great Grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Johnson and Shirley Davis; and Brother, Richard Davis.

She was preceded in death by Brother, Robert Davis and Sister, Barbara Davis.

Janet was a proud Waynesboro resident for 65 years. She worked for Stanley Company in Chambersburg and then for Regency Thermographers for more than 25 years until her retirement.

Janet's greatest joy was having family over for her great meals which she did every Sunday, Holiday and Birthday. She was also an avid Baltimore Orioles fan and also followed tennis and Nascar. She could be found most days playing card games on her computer.

Janet had been in failing health for quite a while but she always had a smile for her family. Her children were with her in her final hours and they had a great visit as she passed on her final words of wisdom and love. She enjoyed one final Dr. Pepper before she left us.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Autism Speaks, PO Box 37148 Boone, IA 50037-0148 to St. Jude’s Childrens' Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements are entrusted to J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD. Online condolences may be shared at www.jldavisfh.com.
