Janet M. Lope, age 82, passed away on February 8, 2026, in Farmington, New Mexico. She was born on April 5, 1943, in Teec Nos Pos, Arizona to Tom and Louise John. She is born to Bit'ahnii (Within His Cover) and born for Táchii'nii (Red Running into the Water).
Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Lope; parents Tom and Louise John; brother Tony John and sister Carol Tso.
Janet is survived by her brother George (Margaret) John and two sisters, Ethel Hoskay and Fannie John.
Burial will take place at the Beclabito Cemetery on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 11:00 am. A reception will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 12:00pm at the Farmington Civic Center.
