Obituary of Janet E. Lopez
On Tuesday January 9, 2024, Janet Eileen Lopez passed away at the age of 67.
Janet was born in Albuquerque, NM on August the 8, 1956. Janet enjoyed sporting activities such as volleyball, but excelled in women's fast pitch softball, which she played in team settings with her sister Jennifer, her Aunt Mary, and many cousins and friends, where she owned the position of short stop, and was known to be one of the fastest runners in the leagues she played in.
Janet was always a music lover and cut her teeth on Grand Funk Railroad, Deep Purple, Carlos Santana, and other Latino musical acts but mostly she had a deep love for the Motown Sound which carried the angelic voices of Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross, and The Supremes, which would keep her in a perpetual state of dancing on any dance floor anywhere.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Martinez, her mother Emily Castillo, father Rafael Lopez, and her stepmother Judy Lopez. She was the loving sister of Jennifer Lopez, Larry Lopez, and Frank Lopez. She was also the loving aunt of Randy Lopez, Jerimiah Lopez, Carolyn Thompson, Dustina Lanz, Judy Faye Lopez. Janet leaves behind many aunts and uncles which included her Aunt Greg, Uncle Frank, and Uncle Roy. She also left many cousins from the Garcia, Castillo, and Lopez families.
Janet had an affinity for the outdoors especially the mountains. So, if anyone who knew and loved Janet Lopez find themselves in a quiet outdoor spot; think of a lone wolf and offer a prayer to the creator of her beautiful heart, because you were in hers.
