Janet M. Maxwell, 89, of Wooster, died Sunday, December 24, 2023 at West View Manor surrounded by her family.
Janet was born January 26, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to Edward and Marion Burge.
She married George E. Maxwell on February 24, 1951. He died on November 23, 2015.
Janet baked the pies for Bishops Drive Inn. She was the head cook for Burbank Elementary School before retiring. She attended St. Mary’s Church of Wooster. She loved being around her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Janet will be deeply missed by her children Bonnie (Leo) Thompson of West Salem, Gary (Michelle) Maxwell of Burbank, Julie (Bill) Yoder of Apple Creek, Ron (Lorie) Maxwell of Burbank and Don (Cathy) Maxwell of West Salem; grandchildren Ashley Brinker, Brandi (Rick) Sanchez, Brooke (Ken) Wycoff, Danielle (Rick) Davis, Amanda (Daniel) Butler, Garrison (Sydney Bowman) Maxwell, Tyler Maxwell, Brandi Troyer, Will Morehouse, Emma Raber and their children; great-grandchildren Elia, Lila, and Ricky Sanchez, Kenny and Georgie Wycoff, Ricky and Tallulah Davis, Daniel Jr. and Theodore Butler.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 64 years, brothers Ronnie, Ralph, and an infant sister.
Friends may call Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will follow at 3 at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Janet-Maxwell). Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
