MORVEN - On Saturday, March 15, 2025, Mrs. Janet Starling McQuage, 78, passed away peacefully at Atrium Health Union in Monroe.
Janet was born August 18, 1946, in Wallace, SC, and was a daughter of the late James N. Starling and the late Margaret Elizabeth Jarrell Starling.
Those who are left to cherish her memory are her children, Dana Johnson (Kenneth) of Chesterfield, SC, and Jeremy McQuage of Morven; her grandchildren, Brianna McQuage of Florence, SC, and Austin Smith of Florida; her great-grandchildren, Zuri, Iris, and Lila and her sister and brother, Helen McGougan (Marshall) of Wadesboro and Michael Starling (Brenda) of South Port.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lynn McQuage, her son-in-law, James Thomas Smith, and by her sister and brothers, Teresa Hundson, Harold Starling, and James "J.T." Starling.
Janet dearly loved her family. She never met a stranger and enjoyed doing genealogy research. She had a great passion for all things dealing with history.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
