Janet Marie Moore, age 81 of Hillsboro, passed away Friday evening, Aug. 1, 2025, at the Adena Regional Medical Center.
She was born on Oct. 29, 1943, in New Vienna, the daughter of the late Gleason and Blanche (Swearingen) Tolle.
After beginning school at the Kennedy School for the Deaf in Dayton, she graduated from Belmont High School in 1964. She retired from the Hercules Trouser Company after 20 years of service and was a member of the Hollowtown Church of Christ.
Janet was a strong woman of faith who loved her Lord and her family and friends with all her heart.
She is survived by two siblings, Gary (Charilyn) Tolle and Carol (Roy) Butler, both of New Vienna; nieces Debbie Tolle of Hillsboro, Cindy (Andy) Pauckner of New Vienna, Lisa Archibald of Hillsboro, Vicki Lynn Butler of Wilmington, and Suzanne "Sam" Henson and family of Leesburg; a nephew James L. "Jim" Butler of Florida; several great nieces and great nephews; and many special friends including John Bloom, Cathy Holbrook and Emily Jackson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Charles Henry Moore, who passed away on Jan. 8, 2021; a sister-in-law, Arlene Tolle; a niece, Vicki Lee Butler; a nephew, Tom Archibald; and a special friend, Cindy Bloom.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, at the Hollowtown Church of Christ. A funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 1 p.m. at the church. Bob Cockrell will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Vienna I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
