Janet Palecek Obituary

Janet Ann Palecek, 93, of Oshkosh WI died surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

Janet was born in Milwaukee to Theresa and John Hupfer on October 29, 1931. She grew up in Newburg and was a nurse at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, where she married Charles Palecek and raised five children.

"No words in an obituary can describe her quite wisdom, her dry wit, or her generous heart. She was simply delightful to be with and leaves behind years of comfort and laughter in the stories we will tell of her."

She is survived by daughters Susan and Donna (Dave Stoeger), daughter-in law Diane, and sons Douglas and Richard (Bonnie). She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, son Daniel, grandson Jacob, and son-in-law Thomas Buehring.

She is survived by brothers Albert (Maryann), Mathew (Betty), sisters Mary Anne Bub (Wayne) and Kathryn Wosnig and sisters-in-law Rita Hupfer and Bridget Palecek. She is preceded in death by brother Thomas and Francis and sisters Margaret Holk (Pete) and Patricia Wagner (John).

Please join us for memorial services at Sacred Heart Church/St Jude the Apostle (519 Knapp St), on Thursday, July 24th: Visitation 9:00-11:00, Mass 11:00, lunch to follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, please consider doing and unexpected act of kindness in her name. She would love that.
