Janet Marie Pare (Russell), 67, of Nashua, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024 at SNHMC due to complications from Multiple Sclerosis. She was born in Redwood City, California. She was the beloved daughter of Eugene L. Russell and Marjorie Ann Russell (Meyers). Janet was the wife of Michael Pare with whom she shared 34 years of marriage.
Janet was a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother. She wrote a column for the Nashua Telegraph and was the author of The Coupon Corner and is also known for winning a cooking contest in the Telegraph for her Quick and Easy Burrito Roll Up Recipe. However, she is best known as the Coupon Queen and is featured in the Guiness Book of World Records for purchasing $234.00 worth of groceries for $.03! This brought her much fame and she was featured on many television shows; Good Morning America, The Today Show, The Donny & Marie Show, and Paul Harvey to just name a few. She was always helping others and used her skills at couponing to purchase groceries that she would donate to local charities. Janet also took pride in visiting 46 states. But above all else, she cherished her time spent with family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Michael, Janet is survived by her son; Dustin Forrest and his wife Melissa of Merrimack, NH, her daughter; Jessica Pare of Nashua and her daughter, Sarina Williams. She is also survived by her brother; Laurence Russell and his wife Beverly of Austin, TX, her sister; Jane O'Brien of Raleigh, NC and several nieces and nephews.
