Janet E. Poxon born January 2, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan passed away on February 24, 2023 in Bay City, Michigan at the age of 72. Beloved Wife of David Poxon. Loving Mother of Matthew (Kimberly) Poxon and Amy (Christopher) Kuhlman. Proud Grandmother of Emma and Kennedy. Dear Sister of Walter (Sandy) Pauli, Kenneth (Diana) Pauli, and was preceded in death by: Barbara Roth (the late Gerald), Kathleen (Jim) Legeret, Linda (Norm) Popa, and Beverly Pauli.
Early in her career Janet worked for the IRS as an audit aide, while completing her Associate Degree from Macomb Community College. She was a contractor who worked 24 years in the areas of Customer Service, Purchasing support and as an auditor. Contract companies included Entech Services, Kelly Services and Manpower Corporation. As a member of the Chrysler Management Club, Janet & Dave had the opportunity to see the world together. They took over 20 trips to many different countries including Italy, Spain, Punta Cana, Peru, and Russia to name a few. Ocean and river cruises were her favorites.
Janet loved to crochet blankets and hats for infant babies, which she donated to Children Hospital, and her local parish family outreach program in Macomb and Gladwin. Quilting was her other passion, making quilts for family members, especially t-shirt quilts for great nieces and nephews, brought her great joy. She was a longtime member of the Sugar Springs Stitchers and their Recreation Committee. Her passion for charity also included many years of volunteer work for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day walk.
Above all, Janet loved her family and friends. Her time spent with her kids, two granddaughters (Emma & Kennedy), sisters, brothers, cousins, nephews, or nieces filled her days with happiness. There was never a moment Janet wouldn't give to make sure those she loved had the care they needed. And she would always make sure they had a full belly. The size of her heart knew no boundaries. Janet will be cherished and remembered in the hearts of all those who knew her, and her impact will continue to shine through us all. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc. 49150 Schoenherr Road (N. of 22 Mile Rd.) Shelby Township.
