Robert Coniglio Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wasik Funeral Home - Shelby Township on Mar. 19, 2026.
Robert M. Coniglio

December 30, 1933 – March 18, 2026

Robert M. Coniglio, affectionately known as "Mr. C," "Bob O," and "Louie," passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, at the age of 92.

Born on December 30, 1933, Robert lived a full and vibrant life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a strong sense of community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Grace Coniglio, as well as his brothers Frank and Joe, and sisters Jo and Nina.

Robert shared a lifelong love story with his high school sweetheart, Barbara (Mundt) Coniglio, whom he married on April 16, 1955. Together they built a marriage that spanned more than seven decades and served as a lasting example of commitment and partnership.

He was a proud and loving father to Robert (Jacquelyn), Susan, and David (Rene). His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Amanda (Nick), Salvatore, Austin (Rachelle), Olivia, and Michael, and his great-grandchildren, Quinn and Chase, who brought him immense joy.

Robert was deeply involved in his community. He served as Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 7255 in Lexington, where he dedicated his time to faith, service, and fellowship. At Blue Water Beach, he was a longtime president and officer of the subdivision association, where he organized countless activities and was especially known for planning the annual end-of-summer picnic that brought neighbors and families together year after year.

A hardworking and entrepreneurial man, Robert owned and operated a Sunoco gas station in Detroit and later founded RMC Construction. He also worked at Ford Motor Company, where he built lasting friendships and a reputation for reliability and dedication.

Robert loved to travel and created many lasting memories exploring new places with his family and friends. Whether at home, at the beach, or on the road, he was happiest surrounded by the people he loved most.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Wasik Funeral Home, 49150 Schoenherr Rd., Shelby Twp. from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
