Janet Louise Rivers

Janet Louise Rivers, age 74, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Jospeh Rivers; her parents, Bernice V. Schmidt and Joseph E. Schmidt, and her brother, Joseph E. Schmidt II.

She is survived by her son, Victor Jerone III; two cherished grandchildren, Lillian Faith Jerone and Makenzie Olivia Jerone; and her brother, Henry “Hank” Schmidt.

Janet was a graduate of Harrison Central High School, after attending college, Janet began working as a cashier at Walmart for many years. She enjoyed cross stitching and was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Temple Baptist Church,14190 Dedeaux Road, Gulfport, MS 39503, beginning at 1:00 p.m., with funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m.

Burial will follow at Old DeLisle Cemetery in Pass Christian, Mississippi.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Angela Breland for the wonderful care and support she gave to Ms. Janet during this time, as well as her caregivers’ Nikki, Renee, Tiffany, and Coral.
