Janet Marie Porter Robinson, age 84, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 5, 2025, at her residence. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Janet was employed with Loyola University School of Law and was recognized for her dedication by the Dean of the School of Law with the Presidential Medal. She retired in 2019, after 21 years of distinguished service. Janet was a faithful and active member of Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a deaconess and the Mother of the Church. Following Hurricane Katrina, Janet became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, continuing her calling as a deaconess and devoted student of the Sunday School. She was an avid New Orleans Saints, LSU football and LSU women’s basketball fan. Janet enjoyed traveling, particularly going on cruises, where she could enjoy fellowship, relaxation, and adventure. Beloved wife of the late Albert Robinson, Jr. Devoted mother of Judith Lynn Porter, Joslyn Marie Robinson (Warren) Sullen, Albert (Airgrecker) Robinson III, Joy Ann Robinson, and Jill Faith Alexander. Grandmother of the late Albert Robinson IV. Daughter of the late Jesse and Jessica Porter. Janet is also survived by 14 grandchildren 21 great grandchildren, 3 godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Macedonia Baptist Church, Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1219 Cohen Street, Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Albert C. Mickel, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church.
