Janet Darlene Rouell, 76, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on July 10th, 2025, in McAlester, OK.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
She was born on April 4th, 1949, to Charles and Rosaline Owen.
We gather today to honor and celebrate the life of Janet Darlene Rouell, a woman who lived with a quiet strength, a loving spirit, and a heart open to all.
At 76, Darlene leaves behind a legacy not measured in years alone, but in the love, she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories that will live on in each of us. She was a devoted wife to Larry, a loving mother to Myrtle and her late son Rafe, a cherished grandmother, and a proud great-grandmother.
Darlene found joy in the simple things such as, crochet needles, her family around her, and a home filled with laughter and warmth. She could talk to anyone and make them feel welcome. Thats just who she was the kind of Nana who made you feel like everything was going to be okay.
She adored her grandchildren: Brianna Cleveland, Bobbie Freeman, Brailee Plotner, and Jesse Choate and nothing made her heart fuller than seeing her family grow. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Colby, Madylan, Adylan, Avery, Paisley, Hudson, and Maddox, each one a shining piece of the love she poured into the world. She is also survived by her daughter in law, Carrie Freeman.
Though her time with us has ended, we trust in the promise of eternal life. We find peace knowing she is reunited with her beloved Rafe, and that she now rests in the presence of God, wrapped in perfect peace and love.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, We thank You for the life of Janet Darlene Rouell. For every smile she shared, every gentle word she spoke, every moment she gave in love. We are grateful for her example of kindness and humility, for her deep love of family, and for the joy she brought to our lives.
We ask that You wrap this family in Your comfort now. Strengthen Larry, Myrtle, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as they move forward carrying her memory. Remind us always that love never dies, it lives on in the hearts of those who remember.
May Janet rest in Your eternal light, where there is no more pain, no more sorrow only peace, and the promise of forever.
In Jesus name we pray,
Amen
