Nora Ernestine (Trujillo) Yoast, 89, formerly of Kiowa, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the Chaney Harkins Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Kiowa. The burial will follow at Wardville Cemetery, Wardville, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be William Drake, Marshall Drake, Jeffery Drake, Jim Johnston, Greg Parsons, and Dustin Verhines.

Honorary pallbearers are Rodney Yoast, Jimmy Smith, Michael Yoast, Thomas Yoast, and Thunder Yoast.

Nora was born to Jose and Maria (Pacheco) Trujillo on April 20, 1936 in Farley, New Mexico. She married Jack Yoast on October 17, 1953 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and from there they moved to Kiowa, Oklahoma in 1971.

Nora was a vibrant soul who brought joy to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing them. A devoted fan of Thunder basketball and WWE wrestling, she cheered passionately always watching a big game or match. Her hobbies reflected both her creativity and patience, embroidery and quilting were favorite pastimes, and Nora's beautiful handcrafted pieces were treasured by family and friends.

Nora had a heart full of warmth and compassion. With her fur baby Thunder always by her side offering emotional support, she navigated life with resilience and love. Nora had a remarkable sense of humor and a personality that lit up any room, outgoing and genuine, she truly never met a stranger.

A dedicated member of Kiowa First Baptist Church since 1971, Nora lived a life grounded in faith, kindness, and community. Her presence, laughter, and generous spirit will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew them.

She is survived by her children, Billy Yoast and wife, Teresa of Henderson, NV; Charlotte Yoast of Chickasha, OK; Mary Johnston and husband, Jim of Kiowa, OK; sisters, Mary Tschapatt of California; Esther Miller of California; Margaret Lupercio of Nevada; grandchildren, Christina Parsons and husband, Greg of Oklahoma City; Jennifer Hinz of Edmond; Thomas Johnston and wife, Rachel of Ada; Daniel Yoast, Anna Yoast, Gabriel Yoast, Emily Yoast all of Nevada; and Kelli McSperitt of Choctaw; great grandchildren, Abigail Johnston, Emily Johnston, Penelope Yoast, Ledger Maxey, and Chesnie Tarron; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Nora is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Yoast; her parents; son, Robert Yoast; sister, Alcarita Yoast and her husband, Charlie; and her brother, Jose Trujillo.
