Janet Kay Bloomingdale Santee, 83, of Marietta, passed away peacefully into the arms of her loving Savior on December 11, 2025 at her home in Marietta.
Kay was born June 23, 1942 in Marietta, Ohio to Lloyd and Nellie {Greathouse} Bloomingdale.
She was a graduate of Marietta High School class of 1960.
She married Edward Santee on May 26th 1962.
Kay received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in her early 20s and faithfully loved and served Him her entire life.
Kay had a love for her special lifelong friends, Patty Reynolds and Sandy Forshey.
Kay faithfully served the Lord as a Sunday School teacher for over 40 years. She loved singing in the church choir, teaching at vacation bible school, and running the snack shop at church camp. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Kay was an avid reader who read thousands of books. She also loved watching birds and yellow roses.
Kay will be deeply missed by her children, Mark (Cheryl) Santee and Missy (Kyle) Gutberlet; grandchildren, Justin (Jodi) Gutberlet, Andrew (Megan) Gutberlet, Matthew Santee, and Timothy Santee; great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Jordan, Allison, Mattix, Elliot, and Milo.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband Edward Santee, parents Lloyd and Nelli Bloomingdale, siblings Lloyd Bloomingdale Jr, Richard Bloomingdale, Bill Bloomingdale, Glenda Starkey, Betty Burton, Mary Carver, and Buddy Bloomingdale; great grandchildren Blake, Baby Gutberlet, and Peter. She is also preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law.
Friends may call Monday, December 15th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta. A celebration of Kay’s life will be Tuesday, December 16th at 11:00 am at Bethel Lighthouse Church at 5570 Warren Chapel Rd. Marietta, Ohio, with Pastor Kevin Gutberlet officiating. Burial will follow the service at East Lawn Memorial Park.
