Kenneth Ray Britton, a beloved resident of Marietta, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on June 18, 1950, in Marietta, Ohio, Kenny lived a life full of love, service, and dedication to his family and community.
Kenny was a proud graduate of Marietta High School, Class of 1968. Following his education, he served his country honorably in the United States Army Reserves. After his military service, Kenny worked as a cable technician, a career that showcased his technical skills and personality which made him excel at his career.
A devout member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Kenny was also actively involved with the Knights of Columbus #4617, the VFW, and the American Legion. He found joy in playing golf, hunting, and spending cherished moments with his friends and family. He also enjoyed driving a bus for Community Action, where he made a positive impact on many lives. Kenny will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, service, and community spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his life.
He is survived by his three devoted children, Katrina "Tina" Henry (John), Kenna Ellison (Jesse), and William "Bill" Britton (Ashley); his adored grandchildren, Noelle, Nicholas, Brady, Charlie, Blake, and Bailey; and his siblings, Larry Britton (Ginny), Marcie Warne, David Britton (Diane), and Tom Britton (Becky). Kenny also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember him.
Kenny was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charles and Elizabeth Jean Britton; his cherished wife, Julia Schilling Britton, whom he married on November 27, 1971; his siblings, Bob Britton, Paul Britton, and sister Diane VanWey; and his son-in-law, Stuart Mayer.
A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Marietta, Ohio, on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 10:00 am with Fr. David Gaydosik officiating. Following the Mass, a Graveside Service will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME in Marietta, Ohio, on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Legion of Marietta, Post 64, 9 Wooster St., Marietta, OH 45750, and the VFW #5108, 319 Pike St., Marietta, OH 45750.
