Janet "Jan" Lynn Scott, 69 of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed from this life on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

Jan was born on Saturday, September 8, 1956, in Dearborn, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late David C. Shepard and the late Marion Louise (Rice) Shepard.

Jan was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, Granny Jan, and friend. She was known for her kindness in helping others, and her love for old Classic Rock-n-Roll. She loved to ride horses when she was young and was a great cook. Jan was known as a peacemaker, was loved by those who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.

Jan is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Walker, and her husband, Steven; 2 Step-Children, Jeff Dillon and his wife, Cindy, and Marsha Clinton; 13 Grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren; Brother, Steve Shepard; Special Friend and Caretaker, Crystal Holman; Lifelong Friend, Katie Banker; A host of cousins, and special friends.

In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Scott, her son, Jimmy Nelson, her step-daughter, Betty Clinton, and her grand-son, Matt Tinsley.

Celebration of Life for Jan Scott will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Estel Bilbrey officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
