Janet Sendek Obituary

Age 87, of Penn Hills
passed away August 12, 2025. She was
born April 6, 1938 in Indiana, PA to Joseph
and Mary Ganley (Bezik) and raised in Ernest, PA.
Janet was preceded in death by her infant
son, Michael Sendek, and her sister, Elizabeth
(Betty) Lukehart.
Janet is survived by her loving husband
of 65 years, Herb Sendek; and her children,
Herb Sendek (wife Melanie) and Mary Beth
Orgera (husband Ross).
Janet is also survived by grandchildren
Kristin Sendek Mogar (Derek Mogar),
Catherine Sendek, Kelly Sendek, Lauren
Orgera Flood (Bobby Flood), and Ross Orgera
(Rylee Orgera)… And great grandchildren Andie and Ford Mogar, and Ross and Joseph
Orgera.
Janet graduated from Indiana HS and the
Mercy School of Nursing. She worked as
a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital in
Pittsburgh. She loved animals, especially
dogs (Mandy and Raleigh). She enjoyed
taking care of her home and yard, displaying
talent for interior decorating, antiques, and
arts & crafts. She was a tremendous cook,
liked reading, and had a "sweet tooth."
A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:30am,
Saturday August 16 at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph's Catholic
Church in Verona, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; stjude.org
