Janet Shaum Obituary
Janet was born on July 20, 1933 to Bernard F. and Ruth M. (Ringler) Shrimplin and attended Burbank High School. On Aug. 25, 1950 she married Donald E. Shaum and they shared 73 years together until his death on Sept. 1, 2023. Janet retired from Norwayne Local Schools after 28 years of service and she was a member of the Congress Community Church. Christmas was her favorite time of the years and she enjoyed collecting Santas. Janet loved spoiling her family and she will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her three children and spouses, Don and Barb Shaum and grandchildren, Christopher (Jody) and Allison; Rocky and Candy Shaum and grandchildren, Carrie (Robert) and Matt (Shannon) and Jolen Shaum and grandson, Randall (Jaimie); her beloved, Ella Bella as well as 10 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Joyce Shrimplin and her BFF, Jewel Wolfe.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, a son, Randy, her parents and a sister, Kay Berger
Graveside services will be Monday, May 12th at 11:30 a.m. at Burbank Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Town & Country Fire and Rescue, 60 N. Lincoln St., West Salem, OH 44287 or to The Wayne County Care Center, 876 S. Geyers Chapel Rd., Wooster, OH 44691. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at the Wayne County Care Center and Ohio's Hospice LifeCare. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
