Janet L. Simon, 93, of Ottawa, IL, passed away September 24th, 2024 at the LaSalle County Nursing Home.
The visitation will take place Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Ottawa Funeral Home. At 11:00 am the prayer service will be officiated by Pastor Jennifer Amy-Dressler. On October 2nd, at 10AM there will be a memorial service held at Open Table United Church of Christ.
Janet was born November 28th, 1930 in Elmhurst, IL to Cheslyn St.Clair and Dorothy Coon. She married Kurt Simon on August 21st, 1954 in Villa Park, Illinois at the First Congregational Church.
She worked as a Teacher for the majority of her career. Janet also worked as a church secretary before her retirement. Janet supported the Willing Workers Church Organization and also was a fan of the Chicago Cubs. She enjoyed nature watching, gardening, cats, and above all spending time with family.
She is survived by; Daughter, Pam Simon, Daughter, Patricia (Bill) Pfau; Grandchildren, Brian and Austin Pfau; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband; both her parents; and brother, Richard St. Clair.
Memorials may be directed to The Alzheimer's Association.
