Janet Grace Smith, age 65, of Wartrace, TN passed from this life on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at home under the care of her family and Gentiva Hospice.

Born on October 13, 1959, in Bangor, Maine, Janet was the daughter of the late Philip Hanson and Margaret Louise Wasson King. A graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1978, she went on to build a successful career as a supervisor in the auto parts manufacturing industry, working with companies across the United States.

Janet found joy in the simple pleasures of country life-fishing, watching deer from her back porch, and soaking in the quiet beauty of nature.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Smith; significant other, Rick Tucker; and brother-in-law, Pete Phelon.

Janet is survived by her sons: Bryan (Julia) Smith of Wartrace, TN and Adam (Keisha) Smith of Shelbyville, TN; grandchildren: David (Rosario), Miranda, Caleb, Pierce, and Stori and great-grandson: Lucas. She is also survived by her siblings, Philip King Jr. of Tullahoma and Patricia Phelan of Wartrace, nieces and nephews; Amy (William) Cookson of Wartrace, TN, Rebecca (Stacy) Phelan, of Winchester, TN, Luther (Denise) Phelan, of Maine; as well as additional nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished bonus children, Augustin (Noemi) Reyes and Paulino (Araceli) Reyes.

Janet chose cremation with no public services.
