Janet Spackman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jens Family Funeral Services & Crematory - Manitowoc on Jul. 25, 2024.
Janet Lorraine (Turcotte) Spackman passed away on July 20, 2024 at the Larson House in Columbus WI.
Janet was born to John and Beatrice (Goodhall) Turcotte on June 2, 1932, in Crystal Falls MI. She was their only child and was dearly loved. Although she had no brothers or sisters growing up, Janet was surrounded by a small and very close extended family including many aunts, uncles and cousins. Her childhood, in the Upper Peninsula, included happy memories, many which were made at her family cottage on Chicaugon Lake. Throughout the years she was able to share her love of the lake and cottage with her children and grandchildren.
Upon graduating from Stambaugh High School in 1951, she moved to Manitowoc where she worked in the office at Mirro Co. It is in Manitowoc that she met and married Jim Spackman in 1955 and they began their life together. Janet's love extended to her children, Barbara, Sharon, and John "Chuck" who remember her as a nurturing soul and a wonderful caregiver. Her 8 grandchildren, Christopher, Alex, Andrew, John, Jared, Jenna, Anthony "AJ" and Jadyn as well as her 9 great grandchildren will miss her greatly.
Her life revolved around her family. Janet loved to read and found joy in sharing that with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. If a noisy house with little ones suddenly got quiet, you could bet that you would find them snuggled on the couch reading with grandma.
Janet also enjoyed attending many sporting events, plays and concerts that her children and grandchildren were involved in. Janet loved to travel with family and friends. Some of her favorite trips included Hawaii, Bahamas, Florida, Las Vegas and Branson. She loved music, especially Country/Western, Old Time Gospel and anything Elvis. She continued to amaze the staff at the Larson House with her ability to sing along with the musicians that would come to play at the facility. Holidays at Janet's were always filled with love, laughter and great food. Her famous apple pie, Special K bars, and meatballs were enjoyed by all.`
Janet is survived by her Children Barbara (Ron) Reindl (Sun Prairie), Sharon (Jim) Derivan (Beaver Dam), and John "Chuck" (Shari) Spackman (Manitowoc), her Grandchildren Christopher (fiancé Teresa Cegla) Reindl, Alex (Stephanie) Reindl, Andrew (Elise) Reindl, John Derivan, Jared Derivan, Jenna Derivan, Anthony "AJ" (Amber) Spackman, and Jadyn Spackman and her Great Grandchildren Hannah and Lincoln Reindl, Tanner Larson, Porter and Hudson Reindl, Ryan and Kylie Reindl, Jordyn and Josie Spackman. She is also survived by long time card club friends Pauline and Carol. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Jim, of 47 years as well as other friends and relatives.
A funeral service to celebrate Janet's life will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11:30 am at Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes, Pfeffer location 928 S. 14th Street, Manitowoc, WI.
