Janet Louise Gessert (Stell), 85, Of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, surrounded by family. She was a beloved parent. grandparent, great grandparent, and friend, whose kindness and friendship touched many lives.

Janet was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on November 16, 1939, to late Ronald Gessert and Josphine Gessert. After graduating from Pensacola High School, she worked as a hygienist and in canvas painting until she met her future husband, the late Cecil I. Stell, Jr. They were married on February 6, 1960, at Pensacola Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida.

One of her greatest passions was her love of animals and over the years she had many domestic animals that filled her time with joy.

Janet is survived by her son Michael A. Stell (Theresa) and her daughter Mary Lee Jones (Jayson); her four grandchildren, Joseph, Chris, Caitlyn, and Amanda; and five great-grandchildren, Logan, Raelyn, Kayden, Kinley, and Adeline.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; her parents, Roland and Josephone; and her sister Sandy.

Janet is also survived by her Affinity family, Amy, Grammy, Kati, Donna, and Erla who provided loving friendships throughout these last six years engaging in friendly times at many functions and who supported her through difficult times.
