Janet Elizabeth Stenger

Janet Elizabeth Stenger , 73, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at The James Cancer Hospital on November 19,, 2025 with her family by her side. Jan was born on March 28, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio to William F. and Margaret J. (Timlin) Smith. She graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School in 1970.

Jan is survived by David Stenger, brother: James (Mary) Smith and numerous in-laws, cousins, nephews and nieces. She will also be greatly missed by her beloved Shih Tzu, Sugar Bear.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Judi Brennan, Joseph "Buckeye" Smith and Julie Santanich.

Jan loved and was loved by all her family especially her siblings. She was always very proud of her Irish Heritage. She liked all types of music and attended many different concerts. She enjoyed going to the Ohio State Fair and shopping on QVC.

The family would like to thank the staff at The James Cancer Hospital Hematology Department for their loving and compassionate care of Jan during her illness.

Jan will be laid to rest with her mother, Margaret, at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S. High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio. Arrangements were made under the care of Shaw-Davis Funeral Home at 4341 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43214
