Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel on Nov. 19, 2025.
Anthony "Tony" Larason, a devoted son and brother, loyal friend, and proud U.S. Army veteran, passed away on November 12th 2025 at the age of 40. Born on May 28, 1985, Tony leaves behind a legacy of strength, service, and deep love for those around him. Known for his steady spirit and unwavering loyalty, Tony touched countless lives with his quiet courage and generous heart.
Tony bravely served his country in the United States Army as an Infantryman completing two tours in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. His service reflected the very core of who he was-dedicated, selfless, and willing to stand strong in the face of hardship. He carried that same determination and resilience into every part of his life, always putting others first.
Tony was passionate about many things, but golf held a special place in his heart. His love for the game led him to play on the golf team at St. Francis DeSales High School, where he formed lasting friendships and honed the skill and discipline that defined him. After completing his military service, Tony continued to pursue that passion and graduated from the Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He later went on to become an assistant golf pro at Glen Ross Golf Club, a position he took great pride in and where he enjoyed sharing his love of the game with others.
Beyond golf, Tony found joy in the simple things he loved most. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed spending time at the gun range, and shared an unbreakable bond with his Husky, Freya, who was his constant companion and greatest source of comfort.
Family was at the center of Tony's world. He leaves behind his parents, Shelly and Randy Larason; his sister, Brittany (Jeff Scott); his nieces, Madison Moore and Harper Scott, his nephew, Brody Moore, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. Their love and connection were deeply cherished by him, and his presence will be missed beyond measure.
Those who knew Tony will forever remember his laughter, his stories, and the steadfast presence he brought to every room. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who loved him-remembered not only for his honorable service, but for his warmth, loyalty, and the love he gave so freely.
May he rest in peace, honored for his service and remembered for his enduring love.
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Snyder Funeral Homes, 637 North State Route 61, in
Sunbury, Ohio, with a service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tony's name to K9s For Warriors at https://k9sforwarriors.org/, an organization dedicated to supporting veterans through the partnership of service dogs-an honor that reflects Tony's love for dogs and his commitment to fellow servicemembers.
