Janet Sue Stevens, 86, of French Lick, Indiana, entered into eternal rest on January 3rd, 2026 at Deaconess Memorial Medical Center in Jasper, Indiana.
She was born in Dubois, Indiana on September 10th, 1939 to Anthony and Mary (Nordhoff) Pieper.
Janet married Perry Dean Stevens on July 10th, 1957 and he preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her Parents; Sister- Mary Margaret Cruz and Brothers – Anthony, Jr. and Richard, and Jiggs Pieper.
Janet was a graduate of Dubois High School, was a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church and retired from Springs Valley Schools where she had worked many years.
She loved gardening, puzzles, crocheting and most of all spending time with her kids and many grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.
Janet is survived by:
Son – Doug Stevens (Jennifer)
Daughters – Linda Newlin, Vicki Craft and Pam Ratliff (Dean)
Brother – Steve Pieper
Sisters – Carol Ebert, Betty Helming, Rosie Fuhs, and Barbara Schroeder
Grandchildren – Danny, Jeremy, Megan, Courtney, Missy, Tiffany, Kord, Shelby, Cara, Nikki, and Cory
(25) Great-Grandchildren (1) Great-Great-Grandchild
FUNERAL CEREMONY
A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Deacon Jim O’Connell on Thursday, January 8th, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home with burial to follow in Crystal Cemetery.
VISITATION
Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and on Thursday, January 8th, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Crystal Community Cemetery, c/o Melvin Jones, 9097 N. 900 E, Dubois, IN 47527.
