Janet M. Voigt, aged 92, passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2025, at Majestic Heights Assisted Living in Hartford, Wisconsin. She was born on December 29, 1932, in Hubertus to LaVerne and Virginia Loew. Janet was united in marriage to Donald M. Voigt on September 10, 1952. She dedicated 22 years of her career to Hartford Memorial Hospital in the Patient Accounts Department, where she formed many lifelong friendships.
Janet loved cooking and delighted in sharing her own cookbook filled with family favorites. She never missed her daughters' volleyball or basketball games. Her support extended to her grandchildren's activities. Janet was the best Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma. She was always there for her family and cherished spending time with them.
Janet was a long-time member of St. Kilian Catholic Parish and served in many capacities. She volunteered for Fall Festivals and CYO trips, cleaned at the church and worked at funeral luncheons. She eventually headed that ministry and her dedication earned her the Spirit of St. Kilian Award, a recognition she cherished.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Lynn Herring of Hartford and Sue (Todd) Frangquist of Allenton; grandchildren, Josh (Alisha) Herring of Theresa, Jessi (Ryan Frydach) of Jackson, Becky (Matt) Herther of West Bend, Jamie (Tyler) Selsing of Hartford, and Matt (Nicole) Kuechler of Slinger; step-grandchildren, Justin (Holly Neill) Frangquist of Hurricane, UT, and Jordan (Kayleigh) Frangquist of Green Bay; and great-grandchildren, Izzy, Avery, and Josie Herring, Owen, Chelsea, and Gavin Herther, Jack, Sophie, and Baby Boy Selsing, and Tia Kuechler; step great grandson Kreston Selsing. She is also survived by her sister Mary Leitzke, sister-in-law Arvilla Voigt, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband; parents; parents-in-law Herbert and Erna Voigt; sister Shirley Doubleday; brothers-in-law James Doubleday, Harley Leitzke, Chester Voigt, and Harold Voigt; sister-in-law Phyllis Voigt; niece Michelle Long; nephews Chester Voigt, Jr and Rev. Brett Voigt.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Majestic Heights, especially those who went above and beyond to provide her with extra love, care and compassion when she most needed it. You know who you are. Special thanks to Fr. David LaPlante for his many visits and treats, especially the lamb cake. Mom loved you!
Funeral services for Janet will be Monday, July 7, 2025, at St Kilian Catholic Church (236 W State St Hartford, WI 53027). The family will greet relatives and friends from 3:00 p.m. until the start of Mass at 5:00 p.m.
