Janet Kristine (Coffman) Widman passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, in
Walla Walla, Washington, after a valiant battle with leukemia. Born on October 11, 1954, in Seattle, Washington, Janet grew up in Othello, Washington where she graduated from Othello High School in 1973. She participated in many activities in her high school years, including Rainbow Girls, cheerleading, drill team, and various sports. She was a member of the Othello First Presbyterian Church, an FFA Queen, and Othello Junior Miss First Princess.
After high school, Janet pursued her passion for healthcare at the Medical Institute for Careers, where she completed her certification in dental assisting. In 1976 she moved to Walla Walla, continuing a remarkable career that spanned nearly five decades, during which she became a well-respected and much-loved figure in her field. She retired from Family Medical Center in 2022 and remained close to her coworkers, often visiting and bringing treats to the office.
Janet's zest for life was evident in her numerous interests and hobbies. She held a special fondness for the outdoors, frequently RV camping with her family at her favorite spot by the ocean at Kalaloch. Her adventurous spirit led her on an incredible journey across the United States with her daughter Amy. Together, they achieved the extraordinary feat of visiting all 50 states and enjoyed many experiences like white water rafting, ziplining, snorkeling, and hot air balloon rides along with visiting many National Parks and seeing the natural beauty of the country.
Janet's home was a place of warmth and happiness, whether it was hosting slumber parties during her daughter's younger years or going all out for the holidays, she always made every event special. She loved spending time with her family, playing board games and gin rummy, and laughing until she cried.
Her kind heart and generous spirit were the glue that held her family together, and her courage inspired those around her to face challenges with grace and determination. Her absence will leave an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who loved her, yet her memory will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Helen Coffman, her brother Martin Coffman, and her brother-in-law Ken Boni. She is survived by her partner of 32 years Mike Eisele, her daughter Amy Kristine (Widman) McCudden and Amy's husband Mikah McCudden, her two sisters Connie Boni and Judy Coffman, and many nephews, cousins, and friends.
