Janet L. Willmert

Janet Louise Willmert passed away March 14, 2026 at home. She was born May 11, 1941, in Cove Gap, PA, the daughter of Russel Cordell and Harriet Grace (Mumma) Ryder.

Janet was employed by J. Schoeneman for 38.5 years, and was a caregiver with Guardian for 18.5 years. She enjoyed reading, planting flowers, watching the birds and cooking. Her strength and grace set a powerful example. Her family was the most important thing to her.

Janet is survived by her children, Sherry Bingaman, Timothy Willmert, Michelle Helfrick and husband Brian, Jodi Willmert; grandchildren, Lacy, Travis, Amanda, Sandy, Rae Ann, Erica, Amy, Brooke and Dylan; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gordon "Willy" Willmert, son Gene Heinbaugh, son-in-law Ray Bingaman, daughter-in-law Kathy Willmert, as well as siblings, Bill, Harold, Ruth, Dorothy, Charles, Betty, and Freida, and two stepbrothers Charles and John.

The family would like to thank Grane Hospice for the care they provided to Janet, and to the friends and neighbors for their love and support.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
