Janet Louise Wood

WOOD, Janet Louise. July 11, 2025. Age 75. Beloved sister of Linda Mastin (Richard), the late David Wood (Lorraine), and the late Diana Jeffers (David). Dear daughter of the late Donald and Vivian Wood (nee: Pearson). Proud and loving aunt of the late Mary Christine, Kathy Wood (Holly), Colleen Wood, Matthew Wood (Sharon), Nicole Torres (Eric), and Lora Cukich (Jake) and great-aunt of Ryan Spaulding (Kristen), Nicholas Wood (Chelsey), Amber Anderson, Samantha Anderson, Annabelle Wood, Olivia Torres, Ruby Torres, Conner Wood, Sylvia Ryti, and Sheldon Ryti. Janet graduated from Roseville High School in 1967. She also attended Macomb Community College and earned a certificate in accounting. Janet began her career working for the Ponchartrain Hotel in Detroit. She had fond memories of meeting her friends at the Roostertail after work for drinks and seeing concerts. She worked as a bookkeeper for a law firm in Detroit and Troy and spent the bulk of her career working as a bookkeeper for Fraser Public Schools, where she retired after 20 years of service. Janet lived her life as she wanted to. she traveled to many places; in 1969 she went to San Francisco, Haight/Ashbury, California and came home with some great clothes! She also traveled to Hawaii, Jamaica, Alaska, and many other places. For several years she would walk the Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day. She really enjoyed life and did it all her way. Visitation Thursday 3-9pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc., 54880 Van Dyke (at 25 Mile Rd.), Shelby Township. Graveside service Friday 11am at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
