Janette Beyl, 84, Minot and formerly of Baden died on Saturday, October 12, 2024 in a Minot hospital.
Janette Ann was born on June 11, 1940 in Baden, ND to Everett and Evelyn (Veeder) Feldman. She was raised on the family farm and educated in Baden and Donnybrook, graduating from Donnybrook High School in 1958. Janette met LeRoy Beyl in 1957 when Donnie, Janette's brother, introduced Janette to his Army "buddy" while they were on furlough together. They were both stationed in California. When Donnie and LeRoy were discharged from the Army they returned to Kenmare.
Janette married LeRoy Beyl on April 25, 1959 in Nazareth Lutheran Church- Kenmare. LeRoy was a member of a road construction crew so they lived wherever his employment took them during their first year of marriage. They lived in Minot for a short time and Janette was employed at Mitchell's Hardware Store and for 2 years near Wing, ND on the Beyl Family Farm. Julia, their first daughter, was born in 1961 and after no rain and no crops, LeRoy returned to road construction and Janette and Julie resided with him "on the road". They returned to Minot in 1963 where Janette prepared for the birth of twins: Gary and Sherry. They were transferred to Aberdeen, SD for a short time before returning to Minot in 1969 when LeRoy became employed by Northern Bottling and Janette was employed at the Capri Restaurant and Minot Public School System. In 1971, the family purchased their current residence on Tuxedo Road. Teresa was welcomed into the family in 1975. In addition to raising four children Janette was a mother to several foster children. Janette began working at the Mini Mart/Loaf n Jug on Fourth Avenue N.W. in 1978 and continued there until her retirement in 2010.
Janette was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School and was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church Women serving on its Board of Directors. In her younger years, Janette was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader and Room Mother at Longfellow Elementary School. In her later years, Janette and LeRoy enjoyed traveling. They traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, Texas, Colorado, California, Mexico and Montana. One of their favorite things to do was fishing and camping at the lake. Janette especially enjoyed ceramics, flower gardening, reading, crocheting, sewing, caramel candies and chocolate, spending time with family and her little dog Norman.
Janette's loving family includes her husband of 65 years: LeRoy; children: Julia Ann (Chris) Caley, Gary LeRoy (Kristi) Beyl, Sherry Marie (Jim) Cunningham and Teresa Anna Marie (Gerald) Stenson; eight grandchildren: Jacque Jean (Cunningham) Nelson, Laurel (Cunningham) (Josh) Fizer, Remington Caley, Cassandra Caley, Everett (Hannah) Beyl, Alex Beyl, Samantha Ann (Hoselton) (Wyatt) Schilling and Jordan Stenson; great grandchildren: Ryker and Ender Nelson, Delilah Rose Fizer, Bennett Beyl and Ayden and Tully Stenson; siblings: Donnie (Carolyn) Feldman; sister-in-law: Marlene Feldman and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Janette's legacy will remain in our hearts and minds as she continues to live through her children and grandchildren.
