Gweneth Irene Beyl

Gweneth Irene Beyl was born November 1, 1949, in Stillwater, OK to Kenneth Bilyeu and Verna (Dimick) Grant. She passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 in Oklahoma City. She was 74 years old.
A memorial service is planned for 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 18, at the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. A private inurnment will take place at a later time in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Gregston, Terry Snider, Nub Sullivan, Rick Medlin, Al Firestone, Jimmy Tilley, James Troutman, and Mark Sellers.
Gwen graduated from Stillwater High School in 1967 and then attended Oklahoma Banking and Business School where she earned an Associate's Degree. She worked as a program director for the Sooner Girl Scouts Council.
On August 30, 1968, Gwen married the love of her life, James Beyl in Stillwater. Together they raised their two children, Kara and Casey. Gwen was a stained-glass artist, enjoyed working in the garden and feeding the birds. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Gwen is preceded in death by her parents; an infant baby; and sister, Cathy Durant.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, James; children: Kara Whaley and husband Michael of Little Elm, Texas and Casey Beyl and wife Megan of Stillwater, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Allison Whaley, Sarah Whaley, Meadow Beyl, Marshall Beyl; and sister, Karen Thomas of Stillwater, OK.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations made be made in Gwen's name to the Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma at 6100 N Robinson Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73118.
