Janette Ruene Briscoe October 31, 1965 – January 12, 2025
Janette Ruene Briscoe, age 60, of Odessa, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025. Born on October 31, 1965, Janette was a proud graduate of Odessa High School, Class of 1983, where she was a dedicated member of the OHS swim team. She was also actively involved in the Ector County 4-H Club and the Ector County 4-H Mounted Drill Team.
Janette contributed to the community through her roles at various organizations, including Calvery Baptist, the Stephenville Empire Tribune, the AT&T call center, and Tractor Supply. In recent years, she devoted much of her time to caring for her mother. Above all, Janette was a loving and devoted mother, sister, and daughter.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Eugenia Flowers Jenkins; her grandfather, James Flowers; her grandmother, Ruby Flowers; her aunts, Jamie Flowers and Peggy Hooper; and her sister-in-law, Shannon Burch Jenkins.
Janette is survived by her father, Albert Clinton Jenkins; her son, Britt Briscoe, and daughter-in-law, Amanda Briscoe; her cherished grandchildren, Jessie Briscoe and Alexis Briscoe; her brothers, Jim Jenkins and Jay Jenkins (and wife DeAnn Jenkins); her sister, Jennifer Jones (and husband Stacy Jones); and her beloved nieces and nephews, Casey Wells (and husband Ben Wells), Tyler Jenkins (and wife Stacia Jenkins), Lauren Webb (and husband Brandon Webb), Cason Jenkins, and Jace Jenkins.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Janette’s name to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
Janette will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
