Janette Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cochran Funeral Home - Livingston on Feb. 17, 2026.
Janette Case Johnson, age 89, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026. Born June 13, 1936, in Houston, Texas, Janette lived a life deeply rooted in faith, love and devotion to her family.

A strong Christian woman, Janette's faith in God was the foundation of her life as reflected in her lifelong dedication to teaching Sunday School to both teenage girls and adult women as well as her faithful participation in prison ministry. She walked daily with grace and an unwavering trust in the LORD. Her favorite scriptures were not only words she read, but promises she lived by. She remained steadfast in her faith, boldly offering prayer, encouragement and God's Word to those around her, even to strangers she encountered. Though she will be greatly missed, her family rejoices in the promise that she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior.

Survived by daughters, Brenda (Ronny) Webb, Karen Summers and Lana Marriott, 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband 1st SGT Richard Case USMC, daughter Sheryl O'Hara, her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She is also survived by her twin sister, Janice Mitchamore, brother Tommy Theo Lohse and numerous nieces and nephews.

Janette wanted everyone to know that she is "Safely Home" and these are the only words she wants inscribed on her headstone.

Her faith and hope in eternity are reflected in her parting message to those she loved, "If I didn't get to tell you goodbye, I'll be waiting for you at the Eastern Gate."

The family will receive friends at the graveside on February 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m., at Magnolia Hill Cemetery, 302 Nocona, Livingston, Texas 77351.
