Janette B. Streck, a loving, caring, radiant and spirited soul passed away peacefully at the age of 74, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Born on June 28, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York, Janette was the cherished daughter of the late Frank Birr and Kathryn Stelle Birr. Janette's life was a testament to the power of love and the warmth of family. On September 23, 1972, she married her beloved husband, Terrence W. Streck, who survives her and continues to honor her legacy at their home in Hyde Park, New York. Together, they built a life full of joy, laughter, and enduring memories.
She was the proud mother of Gregory P. Streck, Kristin M. Streck, and Rebecca K. Streck and husband William F. Krajewski, and the adored grandmother of Jacob W. Krajewski and Meghan C. Streck. Janette's presence was a beacon of light in their lives, guiding them with her wisdom and nurturing them with her boundless love.
Janette's passion for life was evident in her every action and relationship. Her friendly demeanor made her a beloved figure, and her spirited nature brought joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She had the remarkable ability to make everyone around her feel cherished and important, leaving a lasting impact on friends and family alike.
The family will receive friends and loved ones during calling hours from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM, on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Sweet's Funeral Home, located at 4365 Albany Post Rd., Hyde Park, NY. A funeral service celebrating Janette's life will follow at 3:30 PM at the same location. Her spirit and memories will be cherished by all who attend as they share stories and honor the incredible woman she was.
Following the service, Janette will be cremated at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY. Her physical presence will be missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
