Janice Lynn Bafia, of Harleysville, PA, and formerly of Downers Grove, IL, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital – Bethlehem Campus, Bethlehem, PA, just one day prior to her 68th birthday.

She was the loving wife of Steven K. Bafia. The couple had celebrated their 47th Wedding Anniversary on July 22, 2025.

Born in Oak Lawn, IL, she was the daughter of the late Garrett and Carolyn (Evenhouse) Tameling. She was a 1976 graduate of Chicago Christian High School, Palos Heights, IL.

Mrs. Bafia was employed as a cashier by Landis Markets, Telford, PA, for 22 years until retiring in 2024. Following her retirement, she volunteered for the Living Hope Food Pantry, Dublin, PA.

She was a member of Renew Bible Church, Perkasie, PA.

Mrs. Bafia served on a mission trip to Alaska and, while residing in Illinois, with a bus ministry. She will be remembered for her passion for serving others. An avid baker, she enjoyed tending to her fish pond. She loved attending family reunions with her sisters; but most of all, she loved her role of "Memom" and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving with her husband are a son, Joshua R. Bafia and his wife Melissa Halteman-Bafia, of Harleysville, PA; four grandchildren, Faith, Krystal, Damian and Cheyenne; a brother, Gary Tameling and his wife Alyssa, of Hometown, IL; and three sisters, Sandra Bloesch and her husband the Reverend Daniel, of Crete, IL, Judith Irby and her husband Charles, of New Berlin, WI, and Karen Tameling, of Albany, OR. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Christin, in infancy.

Her Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Re:Vivals Outreach Center, 4 S. Ridge Road, Perkasie, PA 18944.

Arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
