Edith S. Veldman, nee Weidenaar, age 95 of Lombard, IL. Beloved wife of the late Richard C. Veldman; loving mother of Rick (Cindy) Veldman, Russ (Gayle McPherson) Veldman, Ron (Bonnie) Veldman, CJ (Cindy) Veldman, Meredith (Randy Nichols) Veldman, Carol Vandenberg, and the late Randy Veldman; cherished mother-in-law of Jeanine Veldman; devoted grandmother of 24; great-grandmother of 37 (with another coming in February); devoted grandmother of 24; great-grandmother of 37 (with another coming in February); dear sister of Virginia Snyder, and sister-in-law of Janet Weidenaar, brother-in-law of John Moes; preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters; dearest friend of Elaine "Babe" Stob; aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Edith was a graduate of Chicago Christian High School in '48. She loved to sing in the church choir at the Christian Reformed Church of Western Springs, Braidwood Presbyterian Church, and Lombard Christian Reformed Church. She had a lifelong love of roller skating, working at the Lombard Roller Rink, and still skating until she was 83. She was an avid reader and lover of words, especially word games. Above all, she will be remembered for her open heart and mind, and her devotion to her Christian faith and her family.
Memorial Service 11 AM, Friday, January 9, 2026, at Lombard Christian Reformed Church, 2020 S. Meyers Rd. Lombard, IL 60148. Interment private.
