Janice Elaine Beardslee, 78, of Jackon died Thursday, January 29, 2026, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born January 22, 1948 in Scott City, Missouri, daughter of the late Lee and Fay Isaacs.

She and the late Thomas Beardslee were married on November 15, 1970 at First Baptist Church in Scott City, MO. They spent 54 years together, most of them in Benton, Missouri before his passing in August of 2025.

Janice was a graduate of Scott City High School and then spent most of her life working as a beautician and a homemaker. She had many clients over the years that came to have their hair done at Janice’s Beauty Shop in Benton.

Janice was also a member of the Benton Homemakers Club and the Benton United Methodist Church for many years. She also devoted much of her time to two Masonic organizations. Janice was a member of St. Mark’s Chapter #167 Order of the Easter Star, an organization in which she served in several leadership positions over the years.

Finally, she was a past guardian of Bethel #51 of Job’s Daughters International, which is an organization for girls that both of her daughters participated in. She was still active in both of these organizations, helping out in any way she could.

Janice loved to spend time with her family, cook, sew and take care of her animals.

Survivors include two daughters, Beth (Mike) Leible of Barnhart, MO; and Christine (Rodney) Davis of Jackson, MO; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lorraine Wooten; and one brother, Warren Isaacs.

No services are scheduled at this time. A celebration of Janice Beardslee’s life will take place in the spring.
