Janice E. Brunette, 74, of Marinette passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Aurora Baycare in Green Bay. She was born on May 7, 1950, to the late Harry and Betty (Schultz) Vaness in Marinette. She graduated from Menominee High School in 1968. In October of 1968, Janice married Joseph Brunette in Menominee. She worked in commercial fishing for many years. She also worked for Natural Casings, Goodwill Industries and Men-O-Mee Activity Center in client relations. Janice enjoyed rummage saling, fishing, and crocheting and knitting, which she gave to many organizations and people. She loved to spend time with family, especially going to events and supporting the kids and grandkids.
Janice is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph Brunette of Marinette; sons, Joseph (Alicia) Brunette of Marinette and Joshua (Tina) Brunette of Wausaukee; daughter, Janin Brunette of Menominee; grandchildren: Merissa (Brandon) Paye, Logan Wissman, Jasmine (fiancé, Ben Kangas) Granius, Devin, Dominick, Prestin, and Lillie Brunette, Bentley and Christopher Chrisman; great grandchildren, Maci and Briar; brothers, Harry "Butch" (Edie) Vaness of PA and Augie (Raedean) Vaness of Oxford, WI; and sisters: Verna Mason of TX, Rose Vaness, and Lorrie Melchoir both of Marinette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Hoffman.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
